The hype and excitement around 17-year-old Jude Bellingham reached its apex when Borussia Dortmund made it official that the teenager was leaving Birmingham City to join the German giant. 

Bellingham is full of talent, especially his ability on the ball and propensity to evade players. His highlight reel emphasizes his skill with the ball at his feet. The midfielder caught the eye of several big teams with Dortmund snatching him up for a Birmingham City record fee of nearly $26 million. 

Christian Pulisic tried everything in his power to be the “Johnny Raincloud” for Liverpool on the day where the Reds would lift the Premier League trophy for the first time in club history. And damn did Pulisic come close.

The American sat on the bench for the start of the match and had to watch Liverpool open the floodgates in the first half with three goals in the span of 20 minutes. 

The scoring frenzy began with Naby Keïta picking up Willian’s loose touch and going for top bins with a thunderbolt of a strike.

The Arsenal vs. Aston Villa match on Tuesday was trending — and for several reasons. Arsenal beat Liverpool and Man City in the last week but fell to Aston Villa 1-0. This win for Villa pulled them out of the bottom three.

Conspiracy theories are some of life’s little gems. They spice up a world that probably doesn’t need to be spicier than it already is, … but hey, sometimes people need to escape reality. And personally, I love conspiracy theories. My favorite is the Denver International Airport theory.

The Arsenal-Liverpool match on Wednesday will not be on NBCSN or NBC, as most major Premier League matches have been for nearly a decade. It won’t even be on Telemundo or Universo in Spanish. Instead, NBC has decided to force everyone to sign up for its new streaming service to watch the match.

For the second game in a row Wigan Athletic has absolutely obliterated someone. Wigan showed no mercy against relegation-threatened Hull City, scoring eight goals against the Tigers, seven of them coming in the first half. No one could quite believe the score line at the half leading to the 8-0 victory.

American players in England’s second-tier Championship have to be the most dangerous players out there. Two weeks after USMNT and Reading defender Matt Miazga was suspended for throwing punches, another American has committed a war crime on the field.

Manchester United became the first Premier League club to win four straight games by three or more goals on Thursday when the Red Devils beat Aston Villa 3-0. The first goal of the game was netted on a penalty kick from Bruno Fernandes, the club’s 13th spot kick of the season. It often seems like there are more Manchester United penalties than any other team, but is that just bias against the most successful club in Premier League history, or do the numbers back it up?
