It was a marvelous night for the 5,000 fans that attended the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium.
However, when euphoria erupted after The Whites’ third and last goal, what was a historic night for Real Madrid’s B Team on the pitch, could’ve been overshadowed by a tragedy off of it. All at the cost of flimsy architecture.
Real Madrid’s Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium fence collapses on players after goal celebration
When Sergio Arribas scored the stoppage time penalty that put Real Madrid B through to the next round, amidst the excitement of their comeback, the Madrid youngsters ran to the crowd to celebrate their team’s fairy tale scoreline. The players jumped onto the fence and celebrated with the fans.
All was worthy of a picture-perfect sequence until a mass amount of fans barricading the fence pushed the bolts to their limit and folded it onto the field and the Real Madrid players.

Scary scenes.
Fortunately enough, no Real Madrid players were injured — an amazing feat considering most of the players were standing over a fence being pushed by a dozen fans.
As expected, though, some fans did go home with a few broken bones and injuries — all that were quickly attended by the stadium’s medical staff.
After the final whistle, and in the middle of their celebrations, the players from ‘La Fábrica’ didn’t forget about their fans and made their way over to check on the state of their injuries. Class.
