The first details of FIFA 20 have been confirmed by EA SPORTS, including a release date of September 27 and a new gameplay mode called “VOLTA Football” — which is “an authentic street football experience” wherein you can “build your player, pick your gear, and express your own personal style.”
A street mode was long rumored but never appeared in FIFA 19, however, it’s now been confirmed for the upcoming edition of the long-running franchise. According to the official release, VOLTA Football features “a custom-built gameplay system,” including flicks, skill moves, new animations and the ability to use the wall, that’s rooted in “the authentic small-sided form of football.”
FIFA 20 Release Date: Friday, September 27, 2019
There’ll be a variety of VOLTA modes to enjoy — 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 and Professional Futsal — as well as different arenas, environments and a plethora of customizable options.
Among the confirmed gameplay changes are “Authentic Game Flow” (improved one-on-ones, smarter AI defending and more natural player motion), “Decisive Moments” (strafe dribbling, controlled tackling, a set piece refresh and composed finishing) and a new “Ball Physics System” (I swear we’ve gotten this in every FIFA for the last decade).
Still, street football should be a good time.
