Hopefully, the party was worth it. Knowing what it was celebrating, it probably was.
Leon Bailey will miss part of Bayer Leverkusen’s preseason after Jamaican authorities forced him into a 14-day quarantine. The reason? He was at the birthday party of Usain Bolt, who last week became one of the most high-profile athletes to test positive for Covid-19.

Bailey, a 23-year-old Jamaica international, had planned travel to Germany via chartered plane to rejoin his team and take part in mandatory Bundesliga Covid-19 testing on Friday. The flight never took off and now it’s likely Bailey will miss Bayer’s first preseason training on Monday.

But hey, partying with Usain Bolt is pretty cool, right?
Let’s hope Bailey didn’t contract the ‘rona so he can get back to playing soccer ASAP. Leverkusen has a first-round DFB-Pokal match on Sept. 13 and opens the Bundesliga on Sept. 20.
