Loretta Lynch is one of the most powerful people in the USA. She has used that power to help take down the powers that be at FIFA and CONCACAF, uncovering various acts of corruption and bribery and what have you.
Lynch appeared on the Colbert Report Late Show With Stephen Colbert (sorry) to talk about various aspects of her job as US Attorney General. FIFA comes up pretty quick.
Loretta Lynch Is The FIFA Slayer
So we know she's not batman, and, considering FIFA's new president is a career soccer beauraucrat who grew up in the next village over from Sepp Blatter, we'd say FIFA hasn't quite been slain either. We'll wait and see.
Lynch's real accomplishment in this investigation, as far as we can tell, is bringing charges upon everyone who has ever even heard of CONCACAF. Unsavory characters like Chuck Blazer, Jeffrey Webb, Jack Warner and Alfredo Hawit have found themselves unemployed, or worse, courtesy of Lynch.
In Europe, Lynch's work has helped ensure the exits of Sepp Blatter, Michel Platini and (for now) Jerome Valcke from the FIFA paradigm. They were replaced by people who are almost the same, but we suppose it's a start.
