If Raheem Sterling’s on-field success in a Manchester City kit still remains to be seen, then his aptitude in interviews seems to be coming along nicely.
Having recently completed a £49 million move from Liverpool, one that was surrounded with controversy in the media and nastiness from fans, Sterling has come out and declared Sergio Aguero on par with Luis Suarez.
"They are two players in the same category, both world-class players and can score from any moment in the game. I am really looking forward to working with him as I did with Luis."
He went on to laud the overall quality of Manchester City.
"They have got world-class players and players I think are capable of winning things year in, year out. The team and the players Man City have got, they should be challenging for the title every year. This year should be no different."
While a couple of nice answers won’t polish the tarnished reputation that Sterling now has, they do show that he is capable of saying the right thing.
And as history has shown time and time again, if he can become a winner at Manchester City, saying the right thing is all he will need to do in order to be forgiven for his behavior by media and fans alike.
