Dinamo Zagreb traveled to NK Lokomotiva for a top of the table clash in the Croatian first division, and how about this for a game-winning goal from 24-year-old Croatian forward Bruno Petković?
Struck in the 16th minute, not only did this goal ultimately open up an eight-point lead for Zagreb at the top of the table, it’s also the sort of thundering overhead kick that’s generally reserved for Thor during a kick about on Asgard.
The clipped ball in is met by a backpedaling Petković, who uses his 6-4 frame like a pendulum to obliterate the ball from almost 10 yards out. He catches this one so sweetly that the goalkeeper has only just lifted his hand when the ball ruptures the back of the net. That’s violence.
Petković has bounced around Italy without making a breakthrough, although he’s currently on loan at Zagreb from Serie A side Bologna.
