Kevin Mac Allister shows he’s in NFL Playoffs spirit with exceptional open-field tackle

With the AFC and NFC Championships on the horizon the football spirit is at an all-time high. The feeling is apparently contagious with one case of football fever spotted in Belgium after a great Kevin Mac Allister tackle.

Argentine defender Mac Allister received a straight red card for a tackle during a Belgian Cup game between powerhouses Union Saint-Gilloise and Anderlecht.

Mac Allister’s teammate gave a half-hearted effort to bring down an opponent in on goal so the 26-year-old showed everyone how it’s done.

Eden Hazard reunites with Swansea ball boy he kicked over a decade later

After 11 years it appears the beef between Eden Hazard and former Swansea ball boy Charlie Morgan has been settled.

A rewind back to 2013 sets the scene of the two crossing paths for the first time. With Chelsea trailing 2-0 on aggregate in the final minutes of a League Cup match, Hazard wasn’t a fan of Morgan’s timewasting tactics.

The ball had gone out for a goal kick and Morgan took a little too long grabbing the ball for Hazard. The now retired Belgian took the ball by force and kicked Morgan who was just 17 years old at the time.

Guinea-Bissau player is living example of the clearance button being jammed in FIFA

The Africa Cup of Nations never fails to provide exhilarating and peculiar moments. A Jefferson Encada clearance in the opening game between hosts Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau has already provided fans with a hilarious highlight.

Encada, who plays at right back for Guinea-Bissau, appeared to have a simple game plan. That plan was the ball was not allowed in his penalty area.

In the first half he intercepted a pass inside the box and had several different options. He could pass back to his goalkeeper or to a fellow defender.

The time Diego Forlán played without a shirt and forced FIFA to quickly make a new rule

Diego Forlán changed the world of soccer forever – and all because he took too long to put his jersey back on.

You might remember Diego Forlán as the fierce blonde striker known for his goals with LaLiga giants Villarreal and Atlético Madrid. Or as the man scoring amazing golazos in the 2010 FIFA World Cup with Uruguay during their historic run to a third-placed finish.

Watch: Referee grabs wrong color card and almost sends off Chris Richards

United States men’s national team defender Chris Richards had a heart-in-mouth moment on Wednesday when he was shown the first red card of his career. Thankfully for the 23-year-old the red card was immediately rescinded.

During Crystal Palace’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea the American defender — who plays a defensive midfielder role for Palace — took one for the team and committed a foul to halt a counterattack.

In the 73rd minute Noni Madueke had successfully dribbled past Richards and the USMNT player tried to pull on the Chelsea forward’s shirt to slow him down.
