LA Galaxy Rightfully And Hilariously Mock Portland Timbers' Divers

The LA Galaxy challenged the Portland Timbers, and our MLS Rankings of Power, by posting a disparaging meme aimed at Diego Chara and David Guzman after the two combined to get Jelle Van Damme sent off on Sunday.

Van Damme was booked for both tackles although he made contact with neither player. Guzman actually spectacularly injured himself with his dive, which is another joke in and of itself.

MLS Rankings Of Power: Week Two

We’ve never understood power rankings, especially when you can just look at the standings for an official, unarguable list of who’s the best (Portland) and who’s the worst (Minnesota, my God!). So, with a desire to not do something so unnecessary and redundant, but rather create a new list that makes very little sense, we present: The MLS Rankings of Power.

Every week, we’ll update this monstrosity in the hope of finding the most powerful person, place or thing in the most major of major soccer leagues. Let us continue.

What A Fantastic Call By The Ref. We're Sorry We Shouted At You.

We want to start with an apology. Maybe two.

When we first saw this clip of Nemanja Nikolić scoring his first goal for the Chicago Fire, we were so certain he was offside we would have been willing to bet the farm, if we owned one. Since we don't, we settled for screaming with reckless abandon at the television. We may have insulted the ref. We certainly scared the children. The dog still hasn't come out of hiding. Sorry on all fronts.

Orlando City's New Stadium Offers One Of The Best Fan Experiences In MLS

Orlando City SC's new stadium is a beautiful piece of architecture that the team and their fan base will be proud of for years to come. It might also hold one of the most passionate fan bases in all of MLS as well.

Pablo Mastroeni Puts In His Two Cents On The Theoretical Fight Between Man And Wolf

There’s been a question on the minds of Americans for almost a week now, a question that has given rise to a national debate: if former NFL Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster engaged in single combat with a wolf, which warrior would emerge victorious?

Atlanta United's Home Opener Sets The Bar For MLS Expansion

Atlanta United have played their first Major League Soccer game, and, for the most part, it lived up to the phenomenal amount of hype surrounding it. One of the biggest things that stood, with regards to their play, was just how quick they are for an expansion side.

Against a New York Red Bulls team that made the 2016 Eastern Conference Semifinals, you'd think that it would be a very one-sided affair. However, this newly formed club showed what they are made of, only losing the game 2-1 after surrendering two late goals.

Atlanta United's Chants Have Gone From Bad To Worse

Atlanta United are the (joint) newest club in the MLS. There have been positives and negatives so far with the Atlanta United experience, but there was one big negative at their opener on Sunday.

Clint Dempsey Scores In His Seattle Sounders Return After Six Months Out

The result wasn’t what Clint Dempsey and the defending MLS Cup champions wanted, a 2-1 defeat to Houston Dynamo to start their 2017 season, but the USMNT player and his club will be delighted that he was able to play 90 minutes and score a goal after six months out with an irregular heartbeat.

Dempsey was sidelined last August after the issue was diagnosed, making him a spectator for Seattle’s improbable MLS Cup triumph, but he was cleared to return to play this preseason. Dempsey picked up right where he left off for Seattle, scoring their lone goal in a 2-1 defeat to Houston.
