The Champions League Round of 16 continued today with a number of goals between the two matches. AS Roma hosted Real Madrid at Stadio Olimpico, while VFL Wolfsburg traveled to KAA Gent.

Cristiano Ronaldo and co. defeated AS Roma 2-0 with CR7 opening the scoring in the 57th minute with a beautiful curling effort into the top left of the box. Subsititute Jesé came on for James Rodgriuez in the 82nd minute and, four minutes later, scored another crucial away goal for Los Blancos.

6-1 Down, This Australian Team Borrowed A Sports Movie Plot

Six-one down with less than half an hour to go. That's what confronted Queensland NPL team Gold Coast City in their match against Holland Park Hawks. Most teams would completely capitulate. They would collapse like a budget themepark, fold like a cocktail napkin, wither away like my ill-fated flower garden, and probably some other similes as well. But not this team. This team was about to mount a great comeback.

Champions League Round of 16 Goals - February 16, 2016

The Champions League is back and produced a number of highlight quality goals. Chelsea traveled to Paris to take on Ligue 1 leading Paris St. Germain, while Benfica hosted Zenit St. Petersburg.

The goal of the day goes to Edison Cavani and his game winner. El Matador caught the Chelsea defense sleeping as his run left him 1-on-1 with Chelsea keeper, Thibaut Courtois. Angel Di Maria sent a long ball to Cavani who trapped it down and slotted it through the legs of the lengthy Chelsea keeper from a tough angle. Cavani's 78th minute goal will be crucial for the away leg in London.

This Penalty Was So Bad The Goal Literally Collapsed In Protest

In 1994 an event happened that shook the very foundation of soccer. During the World Cup in the United States, apparently some marketing hacks decided to have Diana Ross take an exhibition penalty for reasons that are still unclear.

Now, Diana Ross is very talented at many things, singing chief among them. Not chief among them, however, is kicking a soccer ball. Which is how we found ourselves in the position of having to write this article.

This Freestyler Is The Best Subway Entertainment Out There

Ah, the subway. A place getting people from point A to point B and where a lot of waiting commences. It's also the perfect place to perform ballin' freestyle soccer moves apparently. Freestyler Andrew Henderson took to London's prestigious Underground subway system, or as the cool kids over the pond call it, "the tube", to provide Londoners with some entertainment.

See Why Barcelona Can Deliver The Best Soccer In The World Every Weekend

I was watching Barcelona vs Celta Vigo the other day when my roommate sat down next to me and eventually asked me the question, “who do you think is going to win the Champions League?”

After a couple seconds of thinking I said, “Barcelona.” Literally minutes later Barcelona scored this goal.

5 Years Ago, Ronaldo’s Power Goal Inspired A Celebration Only Real Fans Remember

Today, when we think of Ronaldo scoring we think of Ronaldo’s trademark celebration, in which he jumps, spins, and goes super saiyan. He does it nearly every time he scores, and he has made it his trademark. People across the world mimic it, even professional athletes in other sports like Odell Beckham Jr. But, this was not the first original celebration that Ronaldo invented.
