Lost in the Alexis Sanchez-Henrikh Mkhitaryan-Arsenal-Manchester United shuffle was the fact that Manchester City made the best personnel move of the day, locking up Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne until at least 2023. The club announced de Bruyne's extension literally minutes after Arsenal and Manchester United dropped their big news.
GET EXCITED! @DeBruyneKev has today signed a new contract at the Club!

Manchester City's Twitter account is right that fans should be excited about this. Man City just locked up the best player in the Premier League for the long haul, or at least until PSG decide they want him. De Bruyne has six goals and 10 assists so far this season in the Premier League, and is the midfield engine that drives Pep Guardiola's amazing machine.
Now that de Bruyne and his rosy cheeks will be bossing Man City's midfield for years to come, the rest of the EPL giants are going to have to do something special to topple the Citizens.
