It’s been 157 years since the Rules of Association Football were codified at a tavern in London, but the game still remains full of innovation and progressive thinking. Some paradigm shifts are gradual, like the tactical change from an all out 1-1-8 formation to a stubborn 4-5-1, while others metaphorically approach, punch you in the teeth and depart as quickly as they’d arrived. 

These are the best sorts of revolutions: the ones that nobody asked for. 

One thing I always look forward to with a new season is the revamped kits, especially the third kits. The home and away jerseys are always the same colors as last season’s with a new design. This is not the case for the almighty third kit.

Nowadays there are so many differences between younger generations and older generations — things like who should have human rights, whether or not you should care about others and wear a mask in a global pandemic, whether or not the pandemic is a hoax — you know, small stuff like that are always up for debate.

Flopping is one of soccer’s most annoying aspects. Nothing is more of a turn-off than watching a grown adult rolling around screaming bloody murder after a little nick on the shin. The year of 2020 has been awful and with it comes what could be the worst flop ever.

Hamburg-based St. Pauli's new signing Kofi Kyereh became one of the latest players to undergo the traditional initiation ritual of serenading his new teammates on Saturday. 

Kyereh, signed from Wiesbaden on a free transfer, treated the club to a rendition of the classic song "Stand by Me" as St. Pauli prepares for the new season with a training camp in Herzlake. 

Lionel Messi is desperate to get out of Barcelona. His hope of leaving on a free transfer is looking more and more like fantasy after LaLiga’s latest statement ruling his contract is still valid and a club will have to pay $833 million to trigger his release clause.
