Bordeaux is searching for a new manager after Gus Poyet was suspended by the club. Poyet was upset that the club had sold striker Gaetan Laborde to Montpellier without telling him, leading Poyet to describe the transfer “a disgrace.”
Bordeaux manager Gus Poyet: "What happened today with Gaëtan Laborde is a disgrace. I said don't sell until we have a replacement, the board didn't listen. This is the worst day I've had at this club. I am going to speak to my agent tomorrow & I don't know if I will quit."

Thierry Henry has had a small taste of management already, working as an assistant to Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national team for two years, helping to achieve a third-place finish at the 2018 World Cup.
Henry has received backing from former teammates and associates. Patrick Vieira, a former teammate of Henry's at Arsenal and now manager of Ligue 1 side Nice, said he believes that appointing Henry as manager “would be very good for Bordeaux.”
Henry’s longtime manager Arsene Wenger also had some nice things to say, stating that Henry “is intelligent and he has the qualities.”
